IBM PC-AT Reborn – Emptying the Box

It took about a month for the computer I bought to finally get there. I was very intentional and lucky to have found a computer that had already been messed with. The original hardware was no longer in it, and was replaced by newer, but still quite old hardware (mid ’90s). I wanted that, because then I wouldn’t feel bad tearing apart an all original computer.

This one will be a multi-page post, as there was a lot of content in it, so be sure to check out all the pages through links at the bottom!

Here is the front of the new to me computer case.

Not too shabby

But then again, the case may need a little work on some of it.

Top has some rusting and staining

The inside of the top has similar rust. Not major, but that’s for later anyway.

Inside has some rusting as well

After taking out all of the old hardware, I was left with what I wanted.

The inside of the now (mostly) empty chassis

I put a couple of mock parts in it, just to see how things might work out

Obviously the power supply will need some re-fitment
