In this continuation of the Watercooled BitFenix Portal case mod series, we’ll be taking a look at the actual watercooling aspect of it.
After modding the case to fit the watercooling gear we wanted to fit, it’s time to get the pars ready to watercool.
First was to remove the stock heatsink and install the waterblock on the Vega 56 GPU.

Next step was to get the waterblock installed on the CPU, and mount the radiator and fans to the front of the chassis.

We added an additional 80mm radiator and fan in the back of the chassis, and started running some of the tubing.

We ended up running the tubing for the GPU from the radiator around the edge to not obstruct the GPU. That was probably our favorite run of all of them, as it showcases well in the top window.

We finished installing tubing runs and we are essentially complete with building the loop. We still have to flush and clean out the radiator, but we’ve confirmed it all fits inside the chassis.

The whole thing fits in the case! Here’s a sneak peak of what the view in the top window will look like.

After all that, we figured we better make sure the PSU and its wires fit with everything else as well. We put all that in, and it fit well.

Then the last thing was to… take it all apart again. This facilitates cleaning everything thoroughly before we reassemble it one last time.

That was pretty much where we left it off at this point. In the next post, we’ll be reassembling things and running some liquid through it, so check back for more!
